The update to insurance billing codes does not change your catheter. What has changed is the information your supplier must provide to your insurance company. To keep everything moving smoothly, your supplier will need an updated prescription signed and approved by your prescribing clinician. If your supplier isn’t helping or if you’re unsure what to do, your prescribing clinician can also answer questions and support you through the update.

If the catheter you received was different from what you expected, or if you were told you can no longer receive the hydrophilic intermittent catheter you and your clinician selected, support is available.

  • Ask your supplier whether they have your updated prescription and received the correct information from your prescribing clinician
  • Talk with your prescribing clinician, or if you have questions about your catheter
